Our Summer Learning Program launches June 1 for Manatee County children and teens ages 0-17! This year's theme is Adventure Begins at Your Library! Children will have the opportunity to become Library Adventurers—all of our Manatee Library locations will represent a different National Park. Celebrate literacy with your family! Enjoy milestone book prizes, engaging events, a chance to become a Kid Librarian, and Grand Prize entries!
HOW IT WORKS:
The 2024 Summer Learning Program promotes reading and learning with incentives such as free books, programs, and the chance to win a Grand Prize and/or become a Kid Librarian. Participants are encouraged to read 20 hours or more, and for each 5 hours read, they are awarded a new book and entered into the Grand Prize drawing!
Hours are logged in the activity booklet, which will be available to pick up on June 1st. After every completed 5 hours read, come in to pick up your new book prize! After 20 hours, turn in your log booklets to your local librarian for the Grand Prize drawing. July 31st will be the last day to submit reading logs. Winners will be contacted in early August.
Participants with the most hours read (ages 4 and up) have the opportunity to become a Kid Librarian and create a library display while enjoying a behind-the-scenes experience at a Manatee Library of their choice.
Sign up in person at any Manatee Library location and pick up the reading booklet log on June 1st, 2024!
MCPL is excited to announce our continued partnership with the Bradenton Marauders for this year's Summer Learning Program. Every child that completes 20 hours in their reading log will receive a FREE ticket to a select Marauders game. Stay tuned for updates!
