Our STEM explorations provide an immersive learning experience, where students of all ages explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a fun and engaging way. Students Learn Engineering and Programming with New Activities and Challenges every week!
Middle School Explorations:
Introduction to Robotics – June 9th to 13th (5th-8th grades)
This week provides a fun, hands-on and engaging camp for 5th-8th grade students. This introduction to robotics is for students who have not previously attended an SCF Coding Academy summer robotics program. Students learn how to build with LEGO Spike Prime kits, program with blockly code, work with motors and sensors, all while getting an outstanding understanding of manufacturing, automation, and controls.
Fab to Finishing – June 16th to 20th (6th-12th grades)
Participants will experience the journey of turning raw materials into finished products, combining hands-on learning with real-world insights. This includes an exciting factory tour, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at modern fabrication processes. They’ll dive into designing and creating their own custom projects using tools like the Glowforge laser cutter and 3D printers. Throughout the camp, students will learn how to bring their ideas to life, from prototyping and production to branding and marketing. Campers will also explore entrepreneurship by brainstorming creative product ideas, designing marketing materials, and pitching their finished creations to a panel of “investors.”
High School Exploration:
Arduino, Meet Alexa – June 23rd to 27th (8th-12th grades)
This hands-on summer camp for high schoolers combines coding, electronics, and voice integration to bring your ideas to life. Over the course of the camp, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Arduino programming, circuit building, and how to integrate Amazon Alexa to create voice-controlled
projects.
