The SOURCE Theatre is an exciting, educational touring theatre and video company for middle and high school students that has been based in Sarasota, Florida for over thirty years. Directed by Equity actress and nationally published playwright, KT Curran, with Assistant Director, Zara Barrie, The SOURCE creates innovative theatre, film and videos that directly respond to the needs of youth and young adults. With nationally published and highly evaluated plays on bullying prevention, drug and alcohol prevention, tobacco prevention, teen pregnancy and HIV AIDS prevention, The SOURCE has reached tens of thousands of middle and high school students in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Award-winning, innovative, and thought provoking, students, educators and administrators consistently evaluate The SOURCE as one of the most effective prevention programs in the nation. The teen actors in The SOURCE Theatre receive extensive training in theatre, film acting, healthy decision-making, and life skills n in order to give back to the community and the nation by becoming a “source” of life-saving information to their peers.
