Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Youth Cadets

The goal of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Cadet Program is to foster respect for law and order in the youth of today and it offers insight into a career path of law enforcement. This program allows young men and women in high school a firsthand knowledge of the challenges facing deputies and the responsibility and compassion required in that role.

The Cadet Program affords experience and practical application for the various jobs and fields available at the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office or other agencies. Because of this experience, numerous members of the Cadet Program have gone on to full-time employment as deputy sheriffs, corrections deputies and communications personnel.

Meetings are every Monday between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Squad meetings are from 6:30-7:00 p.m. Training and the Business meeting is from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
