In this interactive program, we will learn about insect body parts and adaptations, how humans have used insects throughout history, and the important role insects play in our environment. If you're brave enough, you may even sample some edible insects! Then we'll head out with sweep nets and viewing containers to see what kinds of insects we can catch and identify at Conservatory Park.
This program is suitable for children ages 6 to 12 years old and their families. A parent or guardian is required to stay on-site to assist and supervise their child(ren) for the duration of the program.
Participants should bring a water bottle and wear clothing appropriate for the weather. We recommend sun protection, bug spray, and closed-toe shoes, no flip-flops. Restrooms and a water fountain are available on site.
