Sarasota Orchestra Hurricane Ian Relief Concert at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall

Conductor Christopher Confessore will lead tomorrow night’s Hurricane Ian Relief Concert co-presented by Sarasota Orchestra and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. A Sarasota native, he attended Riverview High School - Sarasota, Florida and was a student in the youth orchestra program of Sarasota Orchestra (then Florida West Coast Symphony). After attending Florida State University and USC Thornton School of Music, he worked for the Florida West Coast Symphony as Education Director and as Assistant Conductor. Now Music Director of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and Principal Pops Conductor of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, he says, “I have been honored to return [to Sarasota Orchestra] as a guest conductor over the years.” This special concert serves as a salute to the extraordinary first responders who embody hope and service during periods of adversity.
