Story Time at J5 Experience! is the perfect way to celebrate America's history and culture, while engaging in exciting activities that will educate and inspire. Story Time at J5 Experience! will showcase the award-winning children's book, "Born on the Water," a captivating tale that explores the enslavement of Africans in America. Through a special reading, students and parents alike will have the opportunity to connect with this important piece of history in a meaningful and engaging way. But that's just the beginning! Throughout the event, attendees will be treated to a range of activities designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and cultural understanding. Storytelling and spoken word performances will transport listeners to different times and places, while student-created virtual book reviews will offer unique perspectives on the book and its themes. In addition, there will be plenty of hands-on art activities to engage children and adults alike. From painting and drawing to collage, participants will have the opportunity to explore their creativity and learn new skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. And of course, there will be plenty of free snacks and refreshments to keep everyone energized and engaged throughout the afternoon. But perhaps the most important aspect of Story Time at J5 Experience! is its focus on teaching children resilience and dignity through the amazing stories rooted in history and culture. By exploring the past and connecting it to the present, we can help young people develop a strong sense of identity, pride, and empathy.
