Join us as we explore the fascinating life history of the American alligator, a symbol of our collective identity and the state reptile of Florida. Discover the essential role alligators play in the protection of wetland habitats and some of the interesting historical uses of the alligator in the southern United States. See how you size up to Florida’s record-size alligator, practice your alligator call, and learn the best ways to observe alligators in the wild safely.
This program is recommended for children ages 6 to 10 years old and their families, however, all are welcome! A parent or guardian is required to stay on-site to assist and supervise their child(ren) for the duration of the program. All participants must sign a liability waiver.
Participants should bring a water bottle and wear clothing appropriate for the weather. We recommend sun protection, bug spray, and closed-toe shoes, no flip-flops. You may wish to bring a picnic lunch or a snack to enjoy at the pavilion after the program. Restrooms and a water fountain are available on site.
A $5 dollar donation per child is suggested for this program. Your gift will help us save wild places and continue to engage people in nature. We greatly appreciate your support!
