UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County Family Event: Take a Child Outside Week - Saltwater Fishing

This Take A Child Outside (TACO) Weekend, Join Sarasota County Park Supervisor Pete Garcia for a youth-friendly lesson on saltwater fishing.
During this drop-in event, your child will have the opportunity to learn how to fish safely from the shoreline. We will teach children how to cast and bait their own hooks, as well as how to properly catch and release fish like trout, snook, jacks, ladyfish, redfish, snapper, grouper, bluefish, and much more.
Our staff love sharing their passion for sport fishing and we hope to create a new generation of anglers.
Fishing gear and bait will be provided for 50 youth.
