Teens! Join us at the Makery for a creative writing project with a crafty twist! Upycling magazines and rescued books (old books destined for the dumpster), you can make your own Blackout Poetry. Think of it as a poetic word search! Line by line, we'll "find" words to create a poem and "blackout" the remaining text, revealing your found poetry. You can create artwork around your poem, too, using a variety of materials.
Friday, February 16th 4-6pm
$12 per person
Ages 13 and up
Making Blackout Poetry teaches you to look closely at words and play with language, all while being creative and having fun. You’ll never look at a block of text in quite the same way again!
