Hazards for Hatchlings: A Sea Turtle Migration Exploration at The Robinson Preserve

Take the journey of a sea turtle hatchling! From the nesting beach to the open ocean, to hitching a ride on the Gulf Stream and back to the nesting beach to begin the life cycle of a sea turtle again. See how danger lurks at every part of the journey for a hatchling. Dip nets and wade into salt water to find what hatchlings eat along the way. Program suitable for ages 7 and older.

Activities include:

Decorating your own sea turtle to complete the journey
Dip netting in shallow water to explore the diet of sea turtle hatchlings
A choose-your-own-adventure migration activity
Discussion about hazards, hatchling survival rates and migration locations
