Shark Tooth Derby at Service Club Park

  • When: Saturday, August 10, 2024,  9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Location: Service Club Park, 1190 Harbor Dr. S, Venice
  • Cost: $30 per adult and $15 per kiddo,

Since Venice is known as “The Shark Tooth Capital of the World” and H2O Adventures & More likes to have fun hunting for shark teeth we will hold our third annual event “The Shark Tooth Derby” on Saturday, August 10th.

We’ve had people from all over the world and all walks of life come to hunt shark teeth and fossils with us in the Peace River and down in Venice. If you’ve never been out looking for fossils, including shark teeth you don’t know what your missing. Once you find your first, you won’t want to stop looking for more.
We will have individual adult and individual kiddo competitions, as well as, a team competition (mixed adult/child is acceptable). Each competition will be timed for one (1) hour and sanitized scoops and sifters will be provided.
The team competition will begin at 9:00 am and there will be a max of 5 teams of two (2).
All individual competitions will begin at 10:30am and there will be 10 spots for adults and 10 spots for kiddos.
Each team or individual will have one (1) hour to find as many whole shark teeth, and the one with the most wins.
In order to participate in this event you must preregister by completing a waiver and payment.
The best part, everyone is a winner and you get to keep all the teeth you find but it wouldn’t be a competition without prizes, so we have those and trophies too.

Now for the fine print and the rules
• Each team must have two people and have a team name.
• Team must hunt utilizing one scoop and one sifter.
• Total greatest number of whole shark teeth win a prize.
• In case of a tie there will be an additional 15 minute search.

If you participated in the past registration is discounted to $25 per adult and $10 per kiddo.
