Welcome to Theory Of Play!
A little about T.O.P. Born and raised in Sarasota FL, my family and I have always been active community members focused on the needs of children and love of impactful small businesses. We are a proud blended family with children ranging from late elementary to adulthood. Having a background in Early Education, we found our hearts called to fill a void in our community; a kind and safe space for children in their primary years.
When looking for things to do, a way to encourage meaningful play, positive social groups or clubs in this age group, we identified a large gap. That gap of intentional and child led/ hands – on play is evident in our classrooms and community as a whole.
Today and everyday we are excited to provide and foster this space. With over 15 years in our community and around the country working closely with children and families, our family prides itself on truly understanding the wants and needs of this environment, the balance of parent – child interactions and how to connect children with the positive impact they can make in their community!
At Theory of Play, your child’s adventure begins in our thoughtfully designed Oasis, featuring six unique Playscapes that offer endless opportunities for discovery. From Main Street to The Pod Place, Social Motion to The Chill Factory, Discovery Den and Art Alchemy Lab, there’s something special for every young explorer.

While you do not have to RSVP, we appreciate you letting us know you are coming. Waivers can be printed and brought with you or we will have them in our amazing wait room. Parents can absolutely join in the fun in the playscape area, enjoy our Tot Spot (ages birth - 23 mo) with younger siblings, or enjoy a moment of peace in our large wait area equipped with play for children 2 - 4 and even a work bar for those who are multi-tasking! Please note: Your RSVP, per settings, is private.
