Anna Maria Holiday Shopping with Santa Visit

Holiday shopping event begins on Saturday
Due to the ongoing hurricane recovery efforts, the annual Holiday of Treasures Open House will not take place in Anna Maria this year. Instead, the city of Anna Maria invites residents and visitors to ring in the recovery and support the Anna Maria business community during two celebratory holiday shopping events on Saturday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 21. Both events will take place along Gulf Drive, Pine Avenue and South Bay Boulevard from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. On both dates, Santa Claus will visit with youngsters at the Anna Maria Island Historical Museum, 404 Pine Ave., from 1-3 p.m. A portion of Pine Avenue will be closed during the holiday shopping events, businesses will be allowed to use pop-up tents as part of their expanded holiday sales efforts and a choir will sing Christmas carols.
